Ambulance provider Rural/Metro Corp. said Wednesday that Chief Executive Jack Brucker has resigned and Chairman Conrad A. Conrad will step in to lead the company as interim CEO.
The company said Brucker, 57, is leaving for personal reasons. He led Rural/Metro for more than 12 years.
Conrad, 63, has served on Rural/Metro's board since 2005 and was named chairman in 2008. He previously served as chief financial officer at the soap maker Dial Corp., a subsidiary of Germany's Henkel KGaA.
Rural/Metro' shares rose 22 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $6.81 in midday trading.
