Time-Resolved Fluorescence Microplate Reader

Wed, 01/08/2024 - 11:42am
The NanoScan Fluorescence Lifetime Microplate Reader combines the use of a dye laser with broad excitation range from UV to NIR, special detection optics, and nanosecond level time-resolution. Time gated fluorescence detection (TRF) provides the ability to measure the lifetime of fluorescent compounds. Measuring fluorescence lifetimes enables selective differentiation of fluorescence labels with similar spectral properties. Analyzing changes in the fluorescence decay curves provides increased selectivity and sensitivity of the measurement. Time gated fluorescence detection can also be used to discriminate bound and unbound fluorophore in homogeneous ligand binding assays. The optical design lets the analyst focus the excitation on a small region (250 micron), allowing 384- and 1536-well plates to be read with maximum sensitivity.
