Antibodies Detect Fish Immunoglobulins

Tue, 04/08/2024 - 8:34am
Antibodies to serum (alpha)-salmonid immunoglobulins allow the detection of fish immunoglobulins, important for monitoring the immune response to disease. This form of detection is useful in the research and fisheries industry in detecting infected fish stocks or research into fish immune responses to disease. The antibodies in this novel area consist of a rabbit polyclonal anti-salmonid immunoglobulin (H+L) recognizing the heavy and light chains, and a monoclonal specific for the heavy chain specific to salmonid species Salmo, Oncorhynchus and Savelinus. These products have potential uses in indirect ELISAs, as well as in western blotting, immunoflourescence, and immunocytochemistry.
