Cell Function Genomic Arrays

OriGene® SmartArray gene chips contain pre-selected groups of genes in the form of PCR fragments (400-700 bp). These selected genes are functionally related and are involved in the same regulatory pathway. For example, SmartSet 5 contains genes involved in signal transduction: G proteins, G protein-coupled receptors, and regulators for G protein. These focused chips allow users to identify candidate genes whose products interact and/or act in concert to control cellular functions. Each PCR fragment was meticulously selected so that it has greater than 85% homology with its mouse counterpart, yet does not hybridize with other homologous members from the same gene family. SmartArray is optimized for the radioisotopic (33P) method of detection and may be stripped and re-used up to three times.
