Cyclin-dependent Kinase Inhibitors
A diverse selection of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitors is available from Axxora. The family of inhibitors consists of over 35 reagents, including selective inhibitors for CDK-1, CDK-2, CDK-4, CDK-5, and GSK-3B as well as other enzymes. The complete family is featured on a wall chart that lists each inhibitor’s name, structural formula, and target CDKs, along with the concentration of inhibitor needed to affect each CDK. Considered important tools for cancer research, CDKs play a key role in cell cycle regulation as well as the regulation of transcription and mRNA processing. They belong to a family of closely related serine and threonine protein kinases that coordinate cell progression through G1, S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle by switching between active and inactive states. They are activated by the binding of cyclins and phosphorylation, and inactivated by the binding of CDK inhibitors or by additional phosphorylation.
