Labeling Proteins In Living Cells

Tue, 02/13/2007 - 10:38am

Active Motif's new LigandLink Universal Labeling technology provides a small ligand that can carry a variety of functional tags, including fluorescent dyes. Expression of a protein of interest as a LigandLink fusion enables specifically labeling the protein in vivo simply by adding one of the LigandLink Labels to the medium. To change the properties of the tag, add a different LigandLink Label. It is possible to create a single protein fusion that can be labeled with a variety of tags, depending on user needs. Site-specific labeling of proteins in living cells makes it possible to create a single fusion protein that can be labeled with a variety of tags, making it useful for FRET or co-localization studies.
