Microarray Spotter Increases Throughput for Gene Profiling
LISTED UNDER:
SpotBot Extreme Microarray spotter from Arrayit, available at Laboratory-Equipment.com, increases throughput for gene profiling in life science and manufacturing labs. Print 10,000 samples of antigens, antibodies, peptides and more in less than 12 hours. SpotBot has two printing zones that each accommodates 14 substrate slides, or one standard microplate.
The print-head holds 16 pins in a 4 x 4 pattern that deliver samples with 4.5 mm of space in between. This patented printing method creates uniform spotting for good resolution and repeatability. Humidity and air turbulence are also controlled, ensuring precision and minimal sample evaporation. Vibration dampeners allow controlled printing.
Windows operating system is used for ease of programming and compatibility with laboratory work stations. Systems include LED flat panel monitor, keyboard and mouse. The spotter’s robotic mechanism is energy-efficient, with reduced heat transfer that may adversely affect sensitive samples. Pins are cleaned with a megasonic wash station and dried with forced air streams, removing risk of sample carryover.
