The GIX Microplotter Desktop from SonoPlot is a picoliter fluid dispensing system capable of handling a wide range of aqueous and solvent-based solutions used in printing DNA, RNA, or protein microarrays, as well as MALDI-ToF matrices. The core of the Microplotter is a dispenser that uses controlled ultrasonics to deposit fluid in a non-contact manner and produce fluid features on a surface as small as 5 µm wide. The ultrasonics used in the dispenser are gentle and do not denature sensitive proteins or fragment longer DNA strands. Newly available for the system are environmental enclosures providing humidity control, UV illumination, or HEPA filtering. SonoPlot, Inc., 608 824 9311, www.sonoplot.com
