Genes Explain Why Some Chimpanzees are Smarter than Others

A recent study explains why some chimpanzees are smarter than others. Researchers from the Yerkes National Primate Center found that about half of that variation in intelligence depends on the genes that individuals carry and pass on from one generation to the next.

Genes Influence Reading and Math Abilities

Scientists from University College London show that around half the genes that influence how well a child can read also influence their ability in math. While mathematics and reading ability are known to run in families, the complex system of genes affecting these traits is largely unknown.
