Futuristic 3-D Printing Technique Unveiled

Joseph DeSimone, the CEO of Carbon3D, tested a new form of 3-D printing during his TED Talk in Vancouver Monday night.
The Redwood City, Calif.-based company employs a technology called CLIP (Continuous Liquid Interface Production), which creates products utilizing light and oxygen to quickly make a fully formed prototype from a pool of resin. Carbon3D’s technique is “25 to 100 times faster” compared to traditional 3-D printing methods, the company told Recode.
No cost has been announced yet, but DeSimone told the crowd the machine is in testing at a few companies.
