ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (September 21, 2024) This
year, the Beckman Coulter Foundation and the Beckman Coulter (NYSE:
BEC) Employee Volunteer Team are partnering with Habitat for
Humanity of Orange County for National Make a Difference Day.
Nearly 70 Beckman Coulter employee volunteers are expected to
take part in the October 23rd event. This year marks the 20th
anniversary of Make a Difference Day, the largest day of community
service held across the U.S., and Beckman Coulter has a long
history of supporting various community-based projects in
conjunction with the nationally recognized event.
The Habitat for Humanity of Orange County project is located in
Fullerton, California, close to Beckman Coulter's world
headquarters in Brea. Construction on the site began in early March
and includes five homes all between 1,100-1,300 square feet, with
2-3 bedrooms each. Five families in need were selected by Habitat
for Humanity of Orange County from more than 100 applicants.
With framing complete and exterior work ongoing, employee
volunteers from Beckman Coulter will be concentrating their efforts
on the finishing touches such as painting, flooring and baseboard
installations, landscaping and more.
"For decades, our Employee Volunteer Team has dedicated
countless hours toward raising money and awareness for nonprofit
organizations and charities they believe in," says Mary Luthy,
director of Corporate Communications for Beckman Coulter. "In
addition to the science and healthcare-related charitable efforts
the Foundation supports, our employees are proud to take part in
programs such as this that contribute to the quality of life in the
communities where we work and live."
