Johnson & Johnson says it is recalling from wholesalers certain lots of Tylenol, Sudafed and other nonprescription drugs that were distributed in the U.S., the Caribbean and Brazil.
The recalled drugs were made at company's plant in Fort Washington, Pa., before it was shuttered in April following a Food and Drug Administration investigation. J&J said Friday the latest recall was launched after it found evidence of insufficient cleaning procedures at the plant, although it said it does not believe the drugs' quality was impacted.
In the past year, the recall of millions of bottles of nonprescription drugs has battered the reputation of the New Brunswick, N.J., company.
The Fort Washington plant was at the center of the recalls. J&J has said it will not reopen until late this year.
