Array Spotter

Wed, 07/30/2003 - 7:30am
To achieve good spot uniformity within a slide and across multiple experiments, the Lucidea Array Spotter uses an integrated, 24-pen print head that is meticulously matched and factory tested to meet tight specifications. Pens are designed to uptake <200; nl and deposit picoliter volumes uniformly, delivering 150 spots per uptake for efficient use. Newly designed four-step wash system cleans each pen with fresh solutions to prevent contamination from carryover. New features include monitoring of wash and waste fluid levels with semi-automatic refilling and emptying of reservoirs. Complete sample tracking is possible using bar-coded plates and slides. With the tracking system, gene annotation information will track with each sample from microplate well to microarray spot. Lucidea Microarray Spotter ensures uniform spot morphology by using humidity control and temperature monitoring in an enclosed spotting chamber. Spotting fluids can include oligonucleotides, PCR products, cloned DNA, and other biological materials.
