Disinfecting Spray
Whooping cough, or pertussis, is in outbreak status in several states including California, Kansas, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington. In 2014, a record-high 11,000 individuals were diagnosed with pertussis in California. A high percentage of individuals who contracted whooping cough had been vaccinated against it.
As pertussis is a highly infectious bacterial disease, the CDC recommends "Cleaning clinic surfaces using a 10% bleach solution to reduce the amount of nucleic acids in the clinic environment" in sites where patients are being tested and treated for pertussis. BLEACH-RITE Disinfecting Spray meets this CDC guideline as it is a hospital-grade, ready to use 1:10 bleach solution that is stabilized for an 18 month shelf life. This disinfecting spray is EPA approved for killing bordetella pertussis bacteria in one-minute contact time on hard, non-porous surfaces and thus is an appropriate disinfectant in settings where pertussis may be found. The disinfectant is also EPA registered for kill claims against Clostridium Difficile spores, Hepatitis A +B +C, TB, Coronavirus, Herpes Simplex, HIV, H1N1, Influenza A, Norovirus, Poliovirus, RSV, Rhinovirus, Rotavirus, Canine Parvovirus, Feline Panleukopenia, Acinetobacter baumannii, CRKP, CA-MRSA, Enterbacter aerogenes, ESBL, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus, VRSA, VRE, Streptococcus pyogenes, Aspergillus brasiliensis, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
