Torrey Pines Scientific announces its EchoTherm Series of remotely controlled heating and chilling dry baths Models RHB20 and RIC20. They are for use in robotic systems and in fume hoods or environmental chambers where remote control is necessary.

Control is by computer or the Torrey Pines Scientific MIC20 Remote Terminal via their RS232 I/O ports. The MIC20 or computers are used to configure and control the RIC20 and RHB20 remotely for setting and controlling the temperature of samples in various containers from assay plates to centrifuge tubes from -20.0°C to 120.0°C with control and accuracy to ± 0.2°C.

Connect the MIC20 to any one of these units to set and display temperature and timer, collect current set point or temperature, set or clear an idle mode, or calibrate the units using the RS232 cable provided with the MIC20. The MIC20 can be disconnected from one unit and used to set another unit while the prior unit proceeds to do as it was instructed. A PC or computer in a robot can be used to do the same.

The MIC20 measures 4.0” (102 mm) x 5.0” (127 mm) x 2.5” (63.5 mm). The RIC20 measures 6.5” (165 mm) x 4.75” (120 mm) x 4” (101 mm). The RHB20 measures 5.25” (133 mm) x 3.5” (89 mm) x 2.0” (51 mm). The RIC20 and the RHB 20 have accessory brackets available for mounting the units to robotic systems. They are provided with user manual, serial command set, universal power supply for use anywhere in the world, AC line cord for the country of use, and 12-month warranty.

All EchoThermJ units are UL, CSA, and CE compliant.
