Exploring DNA Damage/Genotoxicity Using the MILLIPLEX® MAP 7-plex DNA Damage/Genotoxicity Kit
Up to one million DNA changes occur per cell per day, due to environmental factors and metabolic byproducts. If not repaired, the lesions in critical genes can alter normal functions of a cell. Dysfunctions in DNA damage response are implicated in many diseases. Similarly, genotoxicity describes the capacity of chemical agents to cause DNA damage, leading to problematic mutations. Current methodologies for genotoxicity testing provide limited cellular mechanistic response information.
EMD Millipore’s MILLIPLEX® MAP DNA Damage/ Genotoxicity Kit detects seven proteins in this pathway, including important phosphorylation changes. We demonstrate the utility in two cancer cell lines in which all analytes were detected with good specificity, sensitivity and precision.
