The BD FACSArray bioanalyzer provides high-content analysis of proteins for work in cell biology, immunology, and drug discovery. This benchtop system is composed of an analyzer with a 96-well plate sampler, an optical detection unit, a computer workstation, and acquisition and analysis software. Novel plate sampler technology combines with digital electronics to generate acquisition rates of up to 15,000 events per second. An entire 96-well plate can be run in less than 35 minutes, saving data for 1,000 events per well with each event reporting up to six parameters of scientific information. Dual-laser optical detection system allows the combination of several very bright fluorophores in one sample, enabling applications with a wide dynamic range. Multiplexed bead and cellular assays can be performed. One-click maintenance protocols are included, and system software drives instrument controls and supports walk-away sample acquisition and batch analysis. Ready-to-use acquisition and analysis templates are provided, and researchers can define and store their own.
